Getting Ready for a Super Bowl Weekend?
The upcoming Super Bowl has us thinking about a kid-friendly seven-layer dip. This classic Super Bowl dish is pretty high in sodium, so we swapped some ingredients to make it kid-friendly. If you are also in the mood to make one this weekend, here is our recipe. You will need 1 can of black beans, 2 fresh tomatoes (diced), 2 ripe avocados (mashed), shredded cheddar cheese, 1 lime (add lime’s juice to mashed avocados to maintain freshness), mild salsa (optional), 1 container of sour cream, 1 can of sliced olives (optional). To make the dip easier to eat for kids, you can make individual portions in cups. Layer the ingredients in the cup: beans fist, then diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar, mashed avo, sour cream, salsa (store-made salsa is high in sodium, so you may want to skip it if you’d like to keep kids meals low in sodium) and olives. Refrigerate and serve when desired. Bon appetite!
As always, please send us any baby and kid-related news you would like to share to firstname.lastname@example.org. Have a great weekend ❤️
